TuTu Tots & Gents: Ballet introduction with creative movement using props and action games. Introduces the preschool dancer to early ballet through stories.

Busy Bees: High energy creative movement with modern dance and ballet basics, rhythm, action games, yoga and tumbling elements.
Ballet Butterflies Building blocks of ballet introduced with creative dance time, rhythm and classical music.
Explore and discover the building blocks of dance such as balance, strength, coordination, and flexibility, while music, stories, and imaginative play stimulate creative learning. These school-year sessions have a chance to dance in the year-end recital.
Creative Ballet: Invites young dancers to further explore ballet with classical music and creative dance elements.
Tappy Toes Music and drumming first, movement follows. Rhythm, balance, and coordination skills are developed as students learn more complex patterns and have fun with their happy, tapping feet!
So many choices invite the young dancer to explore beginner technique and movement fun with ballet, tap, modern, jazz, or hip hop. These school-year long classes perform in the year-end recital.
Ballet I:Dancers will gain fundamental steps and vocabulary to grow a solid foundation in ballet. Proper steps, positions and movement with classical music develops musicality, poise, grace, strength and confidence beyond Creative level courses.
Modern I: Explore modern by building strength, spinal flexion, and floor work. In this class, fledgling artists learn to express their creative voice through movement and improvisation activities.
Jazz/Acro:Dancers learn how to turn, leap, jump and move body parts in isolation, with a lower center. Students will learn how smooth and precise movement is inspired by Gus Giordano, Bob Fosse and Jerome Robbins in lyrical, Broadway and contemporary styles of jazz dance. AcroDance is an added bonus as students blend musicality, emotional expression, line and extension with acrobatic movements. Acro technique includes balancing, limbering, tumbling and partnering.

Hip Hop I: Play with rhythms, direct action, confidence, sustained poses, footwork and early choreography with this fun and high-energy program!
We offer 6 levels of classical ballet, with heartfelt emphasis on joyful, whole child education. Technical progress is carefully monitored for each dancer, with a keen focus on injury prevention. Our students gain artistry, technical skill, self-discipline, strength, coordination, increased attention, focus, memory skills, athleticism, and invaluable performance skills. Students can expect to spend at least two years at each level, with regular attendance, focus and practice.
Pointe shoes are attained with teacher recommendation and testing, typically after 2 years in Ballet III twice weekly (rarely before age 12). Students are provided with clear guidance, information and goals for success in this specialty training form.
Music & drumming first, movement follows. Rhythm, balance & coordination skills are vital to success, as we explore the history of this percussive movement form, born in America with roots firmly planted in Africa! We cover early time steps and fundamental-through-advanced repertoire and improvisation.
Learn fun & exciting, contemporary street moves in a family-friendly setting! Class will always use positive, uplifting and inspiring music.
Dance to express! Classes are a blend of theories and techniques including Graham, Limon, Horton, Laban, Evans, and other masters. Learn contact improvisation, composition theories, and Bartenieff fundamentals at every level. Students gain knowledge in choreography and can use their tool kits to create artistic works with the Performance Company when they reach level IV+. Current enrollment in ballet required for all Modern classes.
This high-energy exciting course will focus on fundamentals of jazz movement, with an emphasis on dynamic performance! Jazz level II tailored to students enrolled in Ballet levels II & III. Jazz levels III and IV suited for Ballet levels IV-VI. Current enrollment in Ballet is required to participate in all Levels of this class!
Acrobatic Dance, or acro as it is commonly referred to by dancers and dance professionals, is the beautiful fusion of classic dance technique and the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements. Often defined by unique choreography, acro dancers seamlessly blend musicality, emotional expression, line and extension with acrobatic movements in a dance context. Acro technique includes balancing, limbering, tumbling and partnering, based in flexibility, contortion and strength.
Psalm 149:3 says, “Let them praise His name with dancing!” Does your dancer want to perform with a higher purpose in mind? Then Steps of Praise is for you! Join us as we build repertory ready for performances at community churches and events throughout the year. A selection will be featured in our annual May performance.
No auditions necessary! We invite those who want to share a love of dance, joyful expression, and heartfelt performances as they grow their skills, gifts and talents through dance.
Class Requirements: Enrolled in and attending Ballet III & Modern II/III or higher.

Grow your choreography skills while collaborating and connecting with community! Led by Ms. Sara, this Sept.- early March course develops student artistry and understanding of composition theory. Dancers will have an opportunity to create their own dances and learn modern works from their peers.
Our 2019-2020 Season Agenda includes an intensive study of composition theory and iconic modern dance choreographers as well as participation in the Choose Art benefit performance for Lifeways. Students who have participated in at least one year of Academy Company and are interested in choreographing a group dance for Choose Art will share intentions with Ms. Sara. Choreographers will be chosen based on their level of skill, history of commitment, and experience. Students will then choreograph and rehearse dances in preparation for the performance.
Enrolled in at least one Ballet IV or higher AND at least one Modern IV or higher class. Consistent commitment to the company is essential for this group, as students rely on one another to be in attendance. We invite those who want to hone their choreography and collaborative skills to perform with this company of friends who share their talents to benefit others, too!

The Academy of Dance Arts offers five options for teens and adults who want to learn ballet but have never danced, PLUS options for those who haven’t really stopped! Whatever your level, we have the ideal class fit for you!
Option 1: New Beginners - New to ballet and want to avoid being the tallest one in a class of lovable children?
For pre-teens, teens and adults, the learning is targeted to the age-appropriate style in an introductory ballet class. Perfect for musical theatre students, high school drama support or adults learning something new, this class will be held on Monday evenings, 7:15-8:15pm at our 4251 Canyon Lake Drive location with Ms. Claire.
Option 2: Intermediate Ballet - The next step to level up for those who have had some training, we offer 6-week courses during Friday lunch hours, from 12-1pm at our 4251 Canyon Lake Drive location with Ms. Claire. Our first session begins Friday, Sept. 13. Class Cards are priced at $59 for 6 weeks.
Option 3: Open Ballet - Held Saturdays at our 230 Main location from 10:30am-noon, our classes include Intermediate dancers of all ages who have a working ballet vocabulary and want to grow skills or keep them fresh!
Option 4: Advanced Ballet - we offer classes integrated with our advanced level student for adults who want more challenges and have had experience. See our Ballet program for full details or contact our office for more info.
Option 5: Private lessons - personal training sessions help you gain the skills and confidence when the instructor or studio is available! Priced in 30-minute increments OR the best value is a 3-class card, with 45-minute sessions included.
